The nature of work in America is dramatically changing the ways that we conceive of suburban office parks. The traditional suburban corporate campus reinforces dependence on cars and pushes sprawl into open spaces and farmland. How are changing demographics affecting innovative workplaces and corporate campuses?

This panel will examine various types of employment centers, and associated data on travel patterns, walkability, density, and form. Companies looking to attract millenials have sought out office parks that incorporate many of the amenities that typical city dwellers have come to expect—including proximity to mass transit. Let’s explore ways to marry the best of urban and suburban life. Over the next 5 to 10 years, a significant demographic shift toward suburban work environments will be called upon to incorporate and support the demand for walkable, ‘main street’-style office developments near transit.
