DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Erin Talkington\, Principal & Director of Consulting \nErin Talkington\, Principal & Director of Consulting\, will be featured on the panel session “Urbanism as Amenity: Re-envisioning the Suburban Office Park”. \nThe nature of work in America is dramatically changing the ways that we conceive of suburban office parks. The traditional suburban corporate campus reinforces dependence on cars and pushes sprawl into open spaces and farmland. How are changing demographics affecting innovative workplaces and corporate campuses? \nThis panel will examine various types of employment centers\, and associated data on travel patterns\, walkability\, density\, and form. Companies looking to attract millenials have sought out office parks that incorporate many of the amenities that typical city dwellers have come to expect—including proximity to mass transit. Let’s explore ways to marry the best of urban and suburban life. Over the next 5 to 10 years\, a significant demographic shift toward suburban work environments will be called upon to incorporate and support the demand for walkable\, ‘main street’-style office developments near transit. Panelists will examine various types of employment centers\, and associated data on travel patterns\, walkability\, density\, and form.  \n
