William Maher is Director of Strategy & Research for RCLCO and RCLCO Fund Advisors (RFA), an affiliate business and a leading consultant to institutional advisors. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, Bill leads all research efforts and develops house views on the economy, capital markets, metro economies, and property markets. In addition to serving as a member of the RFA Investment Committee, Bill develops real estate investment strategies for institutional clients, based on advanced risk and return metrics. He brings a wealth of knowledge and perspective from his decades-long experience as a respected economist and thought-leader to the real estate industry.

Prior to joining RCLCO, Bill was Director of Strategy & Research, Americas, at LaSalle Investment Management for twenty-five years. During his tenure, LaSalle grew from a US only investor to a respected global investment management firm. For much of 2020, he worked with the Urban Land Institute, where was the lead writer/researcher of ULI’s Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2021. Before LaSalle, he was a Partner, Real Estate Consulting, at Ernst & Young and an EVP & CFO at Halcyon Ltd.  He’s written and presented extensively on a wide range of topics of importance to the real estate industry and is active in PREA, NCREIF, AIF and other industry groups. Bill has a Master’s in Urban Planning from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Williams College.
