DESCRIPTION:By Invitation Only – Urban Design Mixed-Use Blue Council\nLos Angeles remains drastically underbuilt in terms of the number of housing units needed to maintain affordability for the majority of its residents. Recent local political victories to provide financing for new housing should make a small dent in this problem\, but the need is so great that the challenge in developing sufficient housing is daunting. This session asks what lessons can be learned from the successes of the past and applied as solutions to this crisis? Come hear a diverse group of housing leaders in the public\, nonprofit\, and for-profit sectors present their stories about overcoming obstacles to address affordability by getting the housing built. \n
